Boston College at Virginia Tech -13.5
Virginia Tech has overcome losses to Boston College each of the last two seasons to exact revenge on the Eagles in the ACC championship game both times.

With both teams looking like they could contend for the conference crown again in 2009, the Hokies hope to avoid falling in that early hole this time around.

The fifth-ranked Hokies try to stay undefeated in conference play with their fifth straight win overall Saturday when they host the Eagles, who are going for their third consecutive ACC victory. Boston College was ranked No. 2 when it knocked off No. 8 Virginia Tech in Blacksburg on Oct. 25, 2007. The Hokies responded by winning four straight before defeating the Eagles 30-16 in the conference championship game. Though VT may indeed win this game and it is in Virginia, the 13.5 points is a great deal to overcome. BC has played well and should cover this lofty line. We like BC plus 13.5 pts.

Alabama at Mississippi +5
Despite its preseason hype, Mississippi wasn't able to turn Saturday's anticipated matchup with Alabama into a battle of unbeatens. Whatever respect the 20th-ranked Rebels lost following their early stumble, however, they could quickly regain by beating the Crimson Tide this weekend in Oxford. No. 3 Alabama, meanwhile, will look to extend a dominating start and a five-game winning streak against Ole Miss as its defense tries to bounce back from arguably its worst performance of the season in a sloppy win at Kentucky, where four forced turnovers made the score look worse than the actual margin. This game was circled on both teams' calendars after each was ranked in the top 10 before the season, and the Rebels jumped as high as No. 4 before their major slip-up. Alabama still seems like a better team in a number of areas. The spread should be at least a touchdown or more difference. Obviously, we see value in ‘Bama -5.

Florida at LSU +8
Ever been to Tiger Stadium at night? Ever been to Tiger Stadium at night with your quarterback coming back from a concussion? LSU has a 21-game home winning streak at night - that means something in the SEC. That's gonna be a lot for Mr. Brantley to deal with because I don't think Tim Tebow will play. Florida's defense will keep them in the game, maybe even help win it, but without Tebow, the chances are LSU will have a slight advantage. Expect a low scoring game as well. The 8 points are just too attractive to ignore in a game where the defenses should dominate. Take LSU +8.

Oregon at UCLA +3.5
A pair of dominant performances have given Oregon a strong start in Pac-10 play. Having quarterback Jeremiah Masoli healthy could help keep it going. It's unclear if Masoli will play Saturday when the 13th-ranked Ducks try to win a fifth consecutive game for the first time in nearly four years as they visit UCLA. Masoli hurt his knee in last Saturday's 52-6 win over Washington State and missed two days of practice this week before returning on a limited basis Wednesday. He remains atop the Oregon depth chart, though it's possible backup Nate Costa will start against the Bruins. Oregon (4-1, 2-0) is on a four-game winning streak after opening the season with a 19-8 loss at then-No. 14 Boise State to fall out of the Top 25. While running back LeGarrette Blount has been out, first-year coach Chip Kelly slowly guided the team back into the AP poll with a stunning 42-3 win over then-No. 6 California on Sept. 26, and Oregon climbed three spots after last week's victory. We are staying with the improving OU Ducks, as UCLA seems to have lost some of the earlier luster in being dominated at Stanford last week. Take the Ducks -3.5.
